Aishwarya Arun is a neurodevelopmental biology PhD student in Dr. Sonal Nagarkar Jaiswal’s lab at CSIR-CCMB. Her research journey revolves around understanding the realm of neural stem cells, with the fascinating fruit fly as model organism. She uses combined approaches of fly genetics, molecular biology and proteomics to understand the function of genes causing small brain condition. A bigger part of her work is based on advanced microscopy techniques such as confocal and super-resolution microscopy. Beyond the lab, you will find her learning skills like dancing, hula hooping, photography, discussing about space and seeking new avenues to communicate science.
