Talk to the Hand – 3rd Edition

Gopi is an invasion biologist working on freshwater ecosystems, using the African catfish as my model organism. This species, originally introduced for aquaculture, has now spread across India and is considered highly invasive and hence its sale and culture are banned.

His research focuses on mapping its distribution, tracing its origins, and understanding how it adapts to new and often challenging environments. To do this, he uses molecular tools such as environmental DNA, population genetics, and genomics to explore the ecological and evolutionary processes of invasion.

Join in to learn and discuss current challenges in cancer treatments and how this research may answer some of these questions.
