Sara Sajjadi

Sara Sajjadi is a PhD scholar affiliated with the Genomic Research on Complex diseases group at CSIR-CCMB. Her research work is focused on understanding how a mother's nutrition before and during pregnancy can impact the future health of her child. Specifically, Sara investigates chemical marks on the DNA called DNA methylation, which have the potential to influence gene expression. She aims to understand how maternal nutrition influences DNA methylation patterns in the offspring and the subsequent risk of developing cardiometabolic diseases. Sara also co-owns a small café in Goa with her brother and enjoys actively contributing to its operation in her free time.
